Matchday Report

Team I

Line up’s: Marian, Daniel, Gianluca, Willem, Oscar, Matthias, Tim, Jesus, Kyle

Report: We actually started with a big BOOM into the matchday kicking ass and send the Ostberliner Kicker 4-0 home while they could only bring up 5 players for their first game. Our offense players did a good job over all games by combining infront of the goal and achieve plenty of chances. Oscar managed to score 3 times while Jesus added another for that furious start of the matchday. The very next game was tougher. A goalless draw with plenty of chances from the opponent saved us one point.

The third game was an actual revenge game against the guys from Koni Berlin. This time we managed to be solid against them with few shots towards our goal but their weak passing accurancy made it easy for us and harmless shots on Marian’s goal. Tim scored the only goal in this game.

Game four against the Toons was weaker than we thought it would be. The game was missing good chances but Tim once again striked with a furios hammer into the right upper corner from 7m distance.

The game against Rotor Kreuzberg was one of our weakest during the day. We started strong, scored the lead once again by Oscar (4th goal of the day for him) but weren’t good positioned in the defense on their attacks. A wide open striker of Rotor on the left side shot low into the right corner and couldn’t be saved by Marian…it should have been the only goal against us during the matchday.

In the third last game Daniel finally managed to score his first goal in the 7-a-side league (he is leading the scoring list after all) and helped us to gain a victory over the strong team of Glückauf Utopia. The game against team II was a hard fighted match with some chances for us and some for them; at the end no goals for any of the teams. In the last game we switched the goalkeeper (we were already qualified for the promotion) so Matthias took care of it while Marian played as a striker. A long distance shot by Willem came towards Marian who was standing infront of the goal to stop and kick it into the goal. Daniel’s second goal of the day followed few minutes later.

All in all an awesome matchday with both Pufendorf teams beeing promoted to the 3rd league where they will play on 12th october.

Team II

Line up’s: Deen, James, Alejandro, Cuong, Sina, Dragos, Pascal, Alexis, Clement, Felipé

Report: Unfortunately, we got off to a bad start and lost our first two games against Rotor Kreuzberg and Glück Auf Utopia. Our preparation for these two games was bad as half of the team arrived late, forcing us to start our first game with less than 7 players. Even when we finally had 7 players on the pitch, the team performances were poor and we lacked team spirit.

After a team talk, we went into our third game against Team 08/15 feeling a lot more positive, motivated and up for the fight. Cuong opened the scoring with his first goal for the team with a well taken strike, before the opponent added a second and despite a few more good chances, it finished 2-0. Our third game was even better and we had an excellent performance against Ostberliner Kicker. Although the scoring could have been much higher, we were happy with a strong 2-0 result. We then played against a strong Looney Toons team and felt a little unfortunate to draw 1-1 after a another strong performance, with our goal coming from Pascal.

Our next two games were against Koni Berlin and Wartenberg Bad Boys and we went into both matches with a winning mentality and won both 1-0, with the two goals coming from Dragos and Pascal. By the time we got to our final game against FC Kickers Pufendorf I, both teams had already secured first and second place. Regardless of this, it was still a closely contested affair with both teams going for the win. Although FCKP II dominated possession with slow build-up play and slick passing, it was FCKP I who looked more dangerous and had the best chances, with Daniel and Oscar coming close. It was a game of few chances however, with both teams matching each other and doing well to limit the other team’s chances.

Despite the bad results in the first two games, it was an excellent performance overall from everyone from FCKP II. We played strongly in both defence and attack, controlled most of our games by dominating possession, had plenty of goal scoring chances and were unfortunate not to score more goals.

ABOUT FCKP

FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V. is an amateur football team with its base in Berlin, Germany.

Founded by CouchSurfers over ten years ago, the core values of the team have been inclusion and fair play from the very beginning. We started organising regular football meet-ups, where anyone could join and recruited new players for the team from these games.

We have been meeting up since summer 2008 to have regular games of football at the “Boltzplatz” in the Pufendorfstraße, which is also where the team name comes from.

On 21st January 2017 we founded the club “FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V.” and on 18th April 2017 we were officially entitled by the German law to carry the name.
