FCKP I+II | Matchday 3 | Review

29 June 2014

The third matchday was a day of mixed fortunes for the two teams. It was a lovely sunny day and both teams were really up for it. We started with the most important game of the day: FCKP I vs. FCKP II. Despite players arriving late, both teams managed to field 7 players, but sadly both without any experienced goalkeepers. The match was a one-sided as FCKP II won 3-0. FCKP I managed to beat Koni 1-0 and draw two games, with Amir scoring one and forcing an own goal from the other team. Everyone rotated in goal throughout the whole day.

Players: Amir, Daniel K., Daniel L., Gianluca, Kyle, Lauren, Mazeo, Steffen, Tim.

Goals: Amir (plus an “assist” for an own goal)

FCKP II won 5 games and drew one against a very defensive Looney Toons, while they lost two games against the two best teams in the league, Lambajuun and Hauptstadt Kicker, who were promoted to the first league. James stayed in goal for the whole day (except for the last match against Hauptstadt Kicker, when Clement taking a turn between the posts) and managed to keep three clean sheets thanks to the excellent defensive play from the whole team, especially Pablo, who was playing in his first league matchday. They managed 11 goals, with Dhia the top scorer in his first league matchday with four goals.

Coach: Adonis

Players: Alex, Alexander, Brian, Clement, Dhia, Ezequiel L., James (c), Pablo, Pascal. Goals: Dhia (4), Alexander (3), Alex (2), Clement, Pascal

ABOUT FCKP

FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V. is an amateur football team with its base in Berlin, Germany.

Founded by CouchSurfers over ten years ago, the core values of the team have been inclusion and fair play from the very beginning. We started organising regular football meet-ups, where anyone could join and recruited new players for the team from these games.

We have been meeting up since summer 2008 to have regular games of football at the “Boltzplatz” in the Pufendorfstraße, which is also where the team name comes from.

On 21st January 2017 we founded the club “FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V.” and on 18th April 2017 we were officially entitled by the German law to carry the name.
