Report

For our first 11-a-side match in preparation for the AEM, we faced SV Berliner Brauereien. We went behind early in the first half, despite it being a pretty even game until then with both teams getting the better of the opponent’s defence. Just before we conceded, Eze missed a great chance after Clement made a nice solo run and served the ball on a plate.

Both teams improved after the break, but it was the opponent who managed to score a second before we could take advantage of any of our our chances. However, in true Pufendorfer spirit we soldiered on and quickly came back with an excellent goal by Hector. A great chipped free-kick by Nick into the center of the box, which Hector expertly controlled with his chest and then with a quick turn coolly slotted home past the keeper.

There were some great interactions between Hector, Amir, Alex and Clement in the second half as our pressure increased and passing and movement improved. Then, Daniel K. (having a Messi moment) danced through the opponent’s defence, just to be denied by the keeper. Shortly after that, Julian made a great solo run but was denied a goal by the opponent’s defence. Our defence was able to stay strong, preventing the opponent from making anything out of their chances. After that it was a really physical match as we were chasing the second goal and the intensity increased. Unfortunately we ran out of time!

ABOUT FCKP

FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V. is an amateur football team with its base in Berlin, Germany.

Founded by CouchSurfers over ten years ago, the core values of the team have been inclusion and fair play from the very beginning. We started organising regular football meet-ups, where anyone could join and recruited new players for the team from these games.

We have been meeting up since summer 2008 to have regular games of football at the “Boltzplatz” in the Pufendorfstraße, which is also where the team name comes from.

On 21st January 2017 we founded the club “FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V.” and on 18th April 2017 we were officially entitled by the German law to carry the name.
