Report

In preparation for the AEM, the BuliBären organized an 11-a-side match day in the Bunte Liga along with us, S.K. Lazion and a team of mixed players from outside of the Bunte Liga.

We started against the mixed team. They had some really strong attacking players and there were a few chances in the match for both teams but due to a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping, the score finished 0-0. It was a good match for learning and with James and Alex MC able to maintain an overview by just watching from the side, we managed to identify some areas where we could improve for the next match.

For our second game, we played against the BuliBären, who were without many of the team who won the AEM the previous year and had many guest players. James was also playing for the BuliBären since they didn’t have enough players. We were able to take advantage of their poor defensive organization and had plenty of chances in the 30 minute match once we got settled. We also solved the problem of the midfield being too open by putting Steffen and Kyle in the defensive midfield positions and they did a great job in protecting the defence. Steffen opened the scoring with a great strike from the edge of the box that left the keeper with no chance. They equalized, but we came back strong and scored another through a simple finish from Steffen. Once we went back into the lead, we managed to soak up their attacks with good defending and break quickly. We had a few more good chances to score a third, including two golden chances for Adonis and Mazeo when they did well to get into space just in front of the goal, but on both occasions they weren’t able to put the ball in the net.

ABOUT FCKP

FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V. is an amateur football team with its base in Berlin, Germany.

Founded by CouchSurfers over ten years ago, the core values of the team have been inclusion and fair play from the very beginning. We started organising regular football meet-ups, where anyone could join and recruited new players for the team from these games.

We have been meeting up since summer 2008 to have regular games of football at the “Boltzplatz” in the Pufendorfstraße, which is also where the team name comes from.

On 21st January 2017 we founded the club “FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V.” and on 18th April 2017 we were officially entitled by the German law to carry the name.
