FCKP II Winter Indoor Tournament Bunta Liga

For the first set of Bunte Liga indoor tournaments of the winter season, FCKP II played on Sunday 29th November in a league format tournament against 6 other Bunte Liga teams: Halbe Lunge, Muchas Maracas, Lümmelbande, FC Lambajuuun, Traktor Berlin and Vollpfosten.

We started with the first game of the tournament against Halbe Lunge and got off to a great start with a 1:0 win. The goal came from a sweet volley by Ross in a tight game, with James also coming close to scoring after hitting the post (of his own goal) with a stray back-pass. Our second game turned out to be another close game, as Adonis pulled back a goal after Lümmelbande went ahead after a shot rebounded unfortunately from a save for the striker to slot past the prone Bart. We had more chances with Clement coming close but had to settle for a draw. Our good play continued into the third game against Traktor Berlin and we took our chances, smashing 4 past the Traktor goalkeeper with goals from Clement, Hector (x2) and Nick. Ross also hit the bar after an unusually accurate high pass by Adonis, and Nick was unfortunate to tally an own goal after a corner from the other team was blasted into the penalty area and deflected off his back into the net.

After three games, we were top of the table and looked to be in control, but with three games left against three good teams, including the top two teams in the Bunte Liga, we knew we had to up our game to have any chance of winning. We went into the game against Lambjuun in a good mindset, and had plenty of possession, but were picked apart by rapid and accurate attacking moves. We ended up losing 2-0, with the highlight being a trademark cheeky nutmeg inside our own penalty area by Héctor. Our next match was a must-win game against Muchas Maracas, and despite a close game with sufficient chances, we suffered a 1-0 loss. Going into our final match with only pride to play for, we decided to go all out for goals and switched James into goal for Bart. We went behind after a long shot came through a crowd of bodies and went into the bottom corner. We tried to fight back, but were only able to score one goal through Clement and lost 2-1 after conceding another goal.

We came 5th in a close table and had a fun day, with great discipline and team spirit in a tough tournament.

FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V. is an amateur football team with its base in Berlin, Germany.

Founded by CouchSurfers over ten years ago, the core values of the team have been inclusion and fair play from the very beginning. We started organising regular football meet-ups, where anyone could join and recruited new players for the team from these games.

We have been meeting up since summer 2008 to have regular games of football at the “Boltzplatz” in the Pufendorfstraße, which is also where the team name comes from.

On 21st January 2017 we founded the club “FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin e.V.” and on 18th April 2017 we were officially entitled by the German law to carry the name.
