The Bunte Liga League Cup Qualification round ’16 started for both teams of FC Kickers Pufendorfer Berlin on 22nd October. Lead by the two team captains James and Marian the teams faced 8 games including the “derby” FCKP I vs FCKP II.
FCKP I had struggle to get into the day finishing the first two games with a draw while FCKP II lost their first match 1:2 and won the second 1:0. Being finally warmed up, the first team could bring home their first victory with a 2:1 win over Rentnerbobs; lost the next game then unlucky 0:1 against FC Lümmelbande. James’ team played solid on, gained another point from a draw against FC Lümmelbande but lost their first game then against Malmöer 0:2. After half time of all games played Marian’ team collected 5 out of 12 possible points while team FCKP II gained 4 total points so far. Not a good start for both teams willing to qualify for the next round.
Team I started better into the second phase of day and pulled out 3 wins and one draw out from the last four remaining matches. Meanwhile team II played two more draws, won their last game vs Koni Berlin 2:0 but lost the derby against FCKP I 0:1. Due to the better played second half of the matchday FCKP I managed to finish 2nd place overall and qualify for the final round; FCKP II finished 6th overall with 9 points and finished this year Bunte Liga season already.
