With the good performance from the previous qualification weekend on 22nd October, the lads of Team FCKP I headed back to the Bunte Liga venue a week later (29th October) to perform the League Cup Final with 8 other teams. Our squad remained almost the same, Amir and Stefan could not join us due to their duties.
We started in the first game with a furious 3:0 victory over Halbe Lunge with goals by Steffen, Kyle and Miguel. An easy start but the stronger teams were just about to be faced further on. Game 2 against Muchas Maracas was a goalless draw with good chances of both sides and two crossbar hits of us. The next encounter was Emma 09, usually playing in the 3rd league and one of the weaker teams but we desperately tried to score against them and their 6-defenders strategy paid back winning a point against us with another 0:0 after 12min game time. The 4th game was similar to game two, chances on both sides but both goal keepers disarmed all shots on target; except ONE! The opponent Stehplatz Ermässigt (translated like “reduced standing”) crossed a low ball from the right side infront of the goal where Diego unluckily deflected it towards Marian’s legs into the own goal…what a pity. The 5th game vs SK Lazion (strongest opponent this day) drew out one more time 0:0. We knew by now already that the title won’t be in our hands after giving away easy points against Muchas Maracas and Emma 09. Nevertheless we could win game 6 (2:0 vs Phoenix Wartenberg [Matthias, Kyle]) and game 7 (3:0 vs Vollpfosten [Miguel 2x, own goal opponent]) with a solid effort and finished the last game of the day against FC Lambajuun 0:0 leading us to our 12th consecutive game without allowing the opponent players to score against us, solid defense work.
