With 11 men we fought a 3-2 away win in the blistering cold on Monday night against the Moosmännlein, a team which we now left behind in the table. The match had to be played without officials, no clue why the league did not send anyone to whistle the game. However, we started controlled in the game and could early net in for the lead in the 8th minute when Adonis crossed a high ball from the right half-field towards first post where Dragos headed it in. We tried to continue the smooth game play but only once the danger occurred when the opponent striker ran towards our goal on an 1-on-1 with Marian, standing still till the striker made the move paid off and the left paw disarmed in a quick reaction the strikers low bottom corner shot. Now we were aware of the opponents attacking strategy but just before half time a moon-high cross from the left ground line landed in front of the unguarded goal where Martin waited like a bus stop for the bus to come and got it over the line for the 2-0.
After the sides changed we pushed for the higher score but first Brian (hit the crossbar an inch before the goal line) and then Anthony (with a nice solo hitting the post) were pretty unlucky to bring us a safer lead. Then we conceded the 2-1 after a long ball towards our defense which Nick underestimated and the striker net in. But we have Dragos who brought us up again 3-1 with a nice assist from Steffen. The last minutes were tense and we got after a nice in-the-box-combo the 3-2 final score in the 86th minute.
Second win this year and confident to reach for the 2nd place. Next match on 4th March against the Eastside Kickers at their venue
