Last weekend before league business kicked in again, we hosted the new formed team called “Sonntag Superlands” at the Metro venue. The opponent is a bunch of Sunday afternoon meet up footballers and was founded just the way we were back in 2008. The 11-a-side game was on and the Superlads had a good start gaining first chances after 3 corners in a row bringing some danger to our goal. Meanwhile we tried to bring up a solid build up play, calm and easy but for the beginning we could not get further than the opponents box. Late in the first half our guest player Alex volleyed a cross from the right side with his left foot into the bottom corner for the 1-0 lead. We had some ten minutes of a run right now and got 2-0 up by Steffen.
Halftime two was (seen from our side) pretty much played via the wings on our attacks, especially the left side. Sadly our precision denied a higher lead. The superlads had the longer breath closer to the end and had some power-play-kinda minutes when endless attacks towards our goal occurred. The only time they could get through and managed to bring the ball into the net was in the 82nd minute when their winger entered the box on the left side and managed to score a low shot on the first post. All in all a fair game, the opponent played mostly fair so did we and we could get away with a lucky win…
